New Place appoints new General Manager

Legacy Hotels & Resorts has appointed Nathan Chart as General Manager at New Place Hotel in Southampton. Nathan joins New Place ahead of the phased reopening of hospitality following the pandemic and is looking forward to a busy summer ahead.

Nathan moved to New Place from Chilworth Manor Hotel in Southampton, also managed by Legacy Hotels & Resorts, where he was General Manager for 5 years and is also the current Chair of the Southampton and Region Hoteliers Association. Nathan brings a wealth of local market knowledge to New Place as well as a great deal of industry experience. His 27 year career in hospitality has seen him work for international brands such as Marriott and Hilton as well as a number of quality 4 and 5 red star independent hotels across the South.

Of his appointment, Nathan said,
“I am incredibly proud to be joining the outstanding team at New Place Hotel on the back of what has been an exceptionally challenging year. We are looking forward to welcoming leisure guests back to New Place from 17th May for short breaks or staycations and to hosting many weddings and events throughout the Summer and beyond”.

New Place Hotel is situated in the beautiful English countryside 12 miles from Portsmouth, 11 miles from Southampton city centre, and 5 miles from Fareham. Following new ownership in early 2017 and now managed by Legacy Hotels & Resorts, phase one of a £1.3 million three-phase refurbishment programme to update the hotel’s bedrooms has been completed. The mews style accommodation is just a short walk from the Grade I listed manor house, surrounded by the stunning landscaped grounds. Beautifully blending tradition with modern touches, the stunning manor house is home to a restaurant, bar and meeting rooms.
