A Midsummer Nights Dream Open Air Theatre at New Place Hotel

New for 2019 to New Place Hotel… Chapterhouse Theatre Company presents Shakespeare’s best-loved romantic comedy, A Midsummer Nights Dream, showing on Sunday 28th July.

Let yourself be whisked away on a thrilling journey to the most magical of forests and meet star-crossed lovers, playful fairies, and hilarious travelling players.

Beautifully designed Elizabethan costumes, a wonderful musical score and enchanting woodland creatures come together to make this an evening of unmissable summer garden theatre, and one of Chapterhouse’s most popular shows.

In the run up to this fun-filled event, meet the cast members behind this fun and educational production:

Jessica Porter

Jessica graduated from the prestigious Liverpool Theatre School in the summer of 2018. During her time at drama school she was a show girl for Sir Ken Dodd’s Happiness tour. After graduating with a Distinction, Jessica’s first job as a professional was in an open-air production of Sinbad which toured around England, Ireland and Wales. Jessica also likes to spend her time podcasting and vlogging for her project Connecting Creatives which strives for diversity and unity within the performing arts industry. Jessica is delighted to be joining Chapterhouse Theatre Company for their touring summer season!

Katie Lawson

Katie graduated from University of Northampton with a First-Class BA (Hons) Acting degree in 2018. Alongside her actor training, Katie retained Intermediate and Basic APC Stage Combat, Dance and Singing qualifications.

Theatre credits whilst training include: Betty / Sarah Good in The Crucible dir. Nadia Papachronopolou, Bryony (Brian) in DNA dir. Anthony Houghton, Women in Screw You by Sonder Ensemble, First Witch in Macbeth for University of Northampton, Wife of Bath in The Canterbury Tales dir. Timothy Trimingham Lee, Prince Charming in Cinderella for Looking Glass Theatre and Bagot / Duchess of York in Richard II dir. Roger Smart.

Kieran Seabrook-France

Kieran Seabrook-France graduated Performance preparation Academy Drama School in the summer of 2018, he then went straight into a production of Journeys End playing Raleigh which he thoroughly enjoyed as his first professional credit. Since then, Kieran has performed in a variety of performances including stage, screen and professional combat performances, touring with the Hobgoblin Theatre Company, before being cast as Dickon in The Secret Garden and Billy Bones in Treasure Island with Chapterhouse Theatre Company.

Kim Baker

Kim is delighted to be touring with Chapterhouse. Past summer tours have seen her play a range of characters from Anne Page/Sir Hugh Evans in The Merry Wives of Windsor with Red Dog Theatre to Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet with Festival Players to Miss Prism in The Importance of Being Earnest with Heartbreak. Kim trained at Birmingham School of Acting and has had a varied career in theatre, film, TV, radio and voice-over. Favourite roles include Smooch the Monkey in It’s a Big, Big World for Nickleodeon Jnr, Irene Adler/Mrs Hudson in Sherlock Holmes with Daylight Theatre and filming a commercial with her beloved dog Merlin. In her spare time Kim loves writing poetry. Her first collection The Lavinia Tree was published by Chrysalis Poetry in 2017.

Sam Gibbons – Mr Craven / Ben Weatherstaff

Sam graduated in 2014 with a Second-Class BA (Hons) in Theatre from Brunel University, before training at The Actors Class in London 2015 to 2018. Recent theatre credits include: Joseph Garcin in No Exit (Out of the Blue Theatre Company, 2018), Oberon/Theseus in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (YAOW Theatre Company, 2018) and Nanki-Poo in The Mikado (The Savoy Singers, 2018). Sam is a company director of YAOW Theatre Company and Artistic Director of performing arts company MonkeyMac. In 2017 Sam co-produced and performed in a new play, Talkabout that toured New York (off-Broadway), Edinburgh (Fringe Festival) and London.

Tim Chapman – Colin

Tim has trained with the National Youth Theatre. His roles include Richard in DNA, Nelson in Phase Three and Potts in Mojo. After graduating from Royal Holloway University of London, Tim co-founded Shepard Tone Theatre. He has toured Edinburgh with the company in his self-written one-man show An Abundance of Tims, and recently at the Pleasance Theatre in Coming Out of My Cage (And I’ve Been Doing Just Fine), a show about the song Mr Brightside. He is also a musician and plays the clarinet, saxophone and guitar. Tim is extremely proud to join Chapterhouse Theatre Company in their 2019 tour.
